Representation matters. When someone visits your website, looks through your leaflets or sees materials displayed in your practice, the images you use can send an immediate message about who has been considered, who is welcome and who belongs there.
Unfortunately, finding appropriate imagery that genuinely represents the diversity of LGBTQ+ families isn’t always easy. Pregnancy, birth and parenting imagery is still frequently centred around cisgender, heterosexual families, while LGBTQ+ representation can be limited, stereotypical or simply absent.
That’s why we created our collection of inclusive pregnancy, birth and parenting images.
We know that being visibly and explicitly supportive of LGBTQ+ communities can sometimes attract criticism, particularly in the current climate. Our approach is simple: we would much rather be excluded for who we include than included for who we exclude.
If you feel the same, these images are here to help you make that inclusion visible.
About Our Inclusive Images
All of the images in this collection have been created by Slade at The Queer Parenting Partnership. Some have been inspired by stock imagery, while others have been developed using composite images.
The collection has been designed to give birth workers, healthcare professionals, educators and organisations access to imagery that better represents the people and families they may work with.
We ask that you do not alter the images in any way.
If you would like one of our images with a different skin tone, please email Slade to discuss the adjustments you need.
Using Our Images
When you use an image from the collection, please credit The Queer Parenting Partnership using the following wording:

If you share an image on social media, please also tag us at @ParentingQueer.
You are welcome to use your own captions alongside the images, provided that the content is consistent with The Queer Parenting Partnership’s values and the images themselves have not been altered.
Pricing and Lifetime Access
A one-time payment of £50 gives you lifetime access to our inclusive image collection.
Your access includes both the images currently available and any new images we add to the collection in the future, so you can continue to access new resources as the library grows.
Purchasing access gives you permission to use the images within your own practice or organisation in accordance with the terms on this page.
It does not give you permission to redistribute the image files or provide access to people or organisations who have not purchased them.
Using the Images Outside Your Organisation
If you work for an organisation that has purchased access, that access does not automatically extend to your separate individual practice.
However, if you would also like to use the images independently, please contact us to ask about our discounted access for individual practitioners whose organisation has already purchased the collection.
Please don’t share downloaded files with colleagues, friends or other practitioners for use outside the organisation or practice that purchased them.
Using Our Images Respectfully
These images have been created to improve LGBTQ+ representation and help make pregnancy, birth and parenting spaces more visibly inclusive.
For that reason, we ask that they are always used respectfully and in ways that align with The Queer Parenting Partnership’s values of inclusivity, accessibility, compassion and affirmation.
The Queer Parenting Partnership reserves the right to withdraw access if the images are misused, redistributed without permission or used alongside content that conflicts with these values.
